This photo shows the rear suspension at normal ride height. Note how side loads will tend to force the engine and transmission downward. The suspension will be set up so that the shocks are compressed about 4" at the normal position. A line drawn through the control arms will intersect about 6' to the right of the transaxle at a point 8" off of the ground. A line drawn from this point back to the tire contact point on the concrete crosses the mid-line of the chassis about 4" above the concrete. This point is the called the "roll center".
