Because of the 82 mm stroke and 5.7" connecting rods, the engine is 3/4" wider on each side. Each pushrod tube was cut and extended with a piece of tubing. After checking the length, the pieces were brazed together. These are made from the late model small diameter pushrod tubes. You don't want the bigger ones, even these interfere quite a bit with the exhaust tubes. Later, I covered the tubes with yellow heat-shrink for looks and some protection. Click here to see them. |
