The 930 CV joint is shown disassembled. The die grinder is fitted with what is known as a "cartridge roll". These are 120 grit. Click here to see how rough the finish of the "star" is before polishing. Click here to see a closeup of the same part afterwards. Don't over do it. You should also lightly polish the inside of the CV joint body. They operate much more freely after polishing. This reduces the heat and the chances of the joint binding up at high operational angles. There are special high strength cages available, too. |
